I have worked with Ron at Smith Enterprises to bring a new version of the Vortex to the market.

I wanted a stainless Vortex for use with stainless match barrels. Why have a barrel with rust resistance and a carbon flash hdier and I think they look great too.

Regular barrel stainless was not the choice of alloy for these units and 416R G70 would not cut it in the flame erosion area so we had to go with 714. It is much more expensive and harder to machine than carbon steel and very hard on tooling so these cost more but I feel they are worth if no other reason than the aesthetic appeal.

The dimensions and spec's are identical to the standard G6A2 Smith Vortex.
